Messgae from the Chairperson
I've rashly embarked on a sponsored slim to try and help save the
Bradford Burns Research Unit from closure, so I'm also asking if you would be able to sponsor me, this runs until April
2010 so there's plenty of time to save up. Details below and feel free to down load a sponsor form .
Many thanks in anticipation, for your support Sally
Help Needed to
Secure the future of the Bradford Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit
The Bradford Burns Unit has
to raise £100,000 to help save it from closure and secure it’s future for the next 3 years. The unit was established following the Bradford City fire and it has become the leading
authority on research into ground breaking treatments, used to treat a range of problems, as well as burns injuries. The work
of the unit potentially benefits everyone, not just the people of Bradford, e.g. David Sharpe, the unit head, was heavily
involved in the pioneering face transplant procedures that were carried out in France. May
2010 marks the 25th anniversary of the Bradford City Fire, as a supporter who was at the game that day I am only
too aware of the important work this unit does. Mark Lawn (Joint Bradford City Chair) has begun a sponsored slim, and as Chair
of Bradford City Women’s FC, I have also begun a sponsored slim and challenged him to a ‘weight loss duel’.
I am asking for your support and encouragement to help me lose as
many pounds as possible by the end of April, and at the same time raise as much as I can to support the future of the Burns
Unit. If you can sponsor me please either complete the attached sponsor
form, or drop me an email or ring me. I will be sending out regular progress updates to let you know how things are going,
News will also be published on Bradford City Women’s FC website (www.bcwfc.co.uk). See link below for more information about the campaign. http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/campaigns/news_appeals_burns/news_appeals_burns_news/4686605._Help_us_hit_the_target_/
I hope you will be able to support me, anything you can contribute
will be greatly appreciated.
Sally
